Today was another 24-hour call day so I had few opportunities to find interesting shots. The photo is certainly not an artistic shot, but I found the scene somewhat amusing. The presence of the wagon next to the Danger-Keep-Out makes you wonder where the kid is that parked it there and if he brought his hard-hat…
The construction area is just outside of the Children’s Mercy Hospital Emergency Department. I was actually surprised I got a usable shot – it was taken through a 3rd story window at night without the aid of a tripod. The only lighting in the scene was from those horrible orange tinted parking-lot lights (yes, I changed the white balance). This shot was zoomed it at 135mm, hand-held, f/4, 1/13 of a second at ISO 3200. Without image-stabilization in this lens it would have been a blurry mess!
